Multipurpose sporting facilities

We have several multipurpose sporting facilities available for hire in Glen Eira. They're designed to accommodate a range of sports, including small-sided soccer, handball, futsal, basketball and netball.

We recognise the diverse range of sporting interests within the community and to accommodate a wide variety of these interests we have been planning and developing sports facilities suitable for multi-use.

East Caulfield Reserve — multipurpose sports courts

Our three multipurpose courts at East Caulfield Reserve are designed for a range of sports, including small-sided soccer, futsal, handball, basketball and netball or provide an all-weather surface for other activities.

East Caulfield Reserve, Dudley Street, Caulfield East (access the facility from Sir John Monash Drive)

Facilities

  • Court 1 — synthetic surface, soccer goals, 33 metres wide and 32.3 metres long
  • Court 2 — plexipave surface, basketball rings/soccer goals, 16.5 metres wide and 32.3 metres long 
  • Court 3 — plexipave surface, netball rings/soccer goals, 16.5 metres wide and 32.3 metres long

The multipurpose sports courts and broader East Caulfield Reserve also feature:

  • electronic swipe card access, including lighting at specific times
  • BBQ facilities between the courts and the pavilion
  • public toilets south of the pavilion (close to Dudley Street)
  • car parking off Sir John Monash Drive and Dudley Street (ticketing and/or time restrictions apply).

The multipurpose sports courts are available until 10pm each night. 

Bookings are required for use of multipurpose sports courts at all reserves and must be made a minimum of two business days in advance.

Moorleigh Community Village — multipurpose sports courts

Our multipurpose sports facility at Moorleigh Community Village are located at the rear of the village between the sports ground and the golf course. The multipurpose facility features a synthetic surface, lighting, retractable netting and large goals. This allows the flexibility for five cricket bays in summer or a large multipurpose space (with goals) during winter - a fantastic facility all year round.

Fees and charges

Your booking will include provision of a swipe card to access the facilities. A refundable $50 security bond is to be paid upon collection of the swipe card.

Rates for Glen Eira residents, clubs or schools

  • Moorleigh Reserve - $49 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $64 an hour from 6pm to 10pm
  • East Caulfield Court 1 — $32 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $43 an hour from 6pm to 10pm
  • East Caulfield Courts 2 and 3 — $22 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $32 an hour from 6pm to 10pm

Rates for non-Glen Eira City Council residents, clubs or schools

  • Moorleigh Reserve - $80 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $95 an hour from 6pm to 10pm
  • East Caulfield Court 1 — $43 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $53 an hour from 6pm to 10pm
  • East Caulfield Courts 2 and 3 — $43 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $53 an hour from 6pm to 10pm

Rates for commercial use

  • Moorleigh Reserve - $80 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $95 an hour from 6pm to 10pm
  • East Caulfield Court 1 — $43 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $53 an hour from 6pm to 10pm
  • East Caulfield Courts 2 and 3 — $43 per hour from 7am to 6pm, $53 an hour from 6pm to 10pm

Park facilities

Basketball

If you love shooting hoops, we have plenty of basketball rings for you to use. Just turn up and play! There are basketball rings available at the following parks:

Lawn bowls and bocce

Packer Park features a free to use synthetic lawn bowls green and bocce rinks - subject to availability. Bring your own lawn bowls, or hire some.

Glen Eira is also home to many Lawns Bowls Clubs. These are located at many sites throughout the City.

Multi-purpose hit-up walls

Several of our parks have free hit-up walls for honing your skills or just having fun, you can find these additions at:

  • Caulfield Park
  • Joyce Park
  • King George VI Memorial Reserve
  • Packer Park
  • Wattle Grove Reserve

Netball

We have great netball facilities in Glen Eira, with a regional facility located at Duncan Mackinnon Reserve. This is the biggest netball facility within the City, with ten competition netball courts available for casual practice or exclusive hire.
