Allnutt Park

Announcement

We have  observed the presence of a water mould (Phytophthora) amongst the trees and soil at Allnutt Park. Whilst this is an issue for the health of trees within this park, it will not affect usage by the community for social gatherings, play or exercising.

To find our more, visit the outbreak of water mould webpage.

Allnutt Park is a local favourite and has great amenities, including a large playground suitable for all ages and abilities. Its two picnic shelters make it ideal for birthdays, family reunions and work functions, and there are BBQ facilities and public toilets available. You can also shoot hoops at our basketball ring, practice your swing in our birdie golf cage or relax amongst the trees.

How is COVID-19 impacting our parks?

For the continued good health of our community and as a measure to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 we have:

  • turned off drinking fountains and barbecues
  • suspended bookings for our venues, parks or reserves until further notice.
Our playgrounds, outdoor gyms, skate park, netball courts, basketball hoops are now open and sportsgrounds are open to approved sports clubs. People should not gather in groups of more than 20, and stay 1.5 metres apart from others where possible.

Note: Playgrounds will now be included in Citywide’s Working for Victoria cleaning blitz which is funded by the State Government. Council will also undertake regular cleaning of all playground equipment and other high touch surfaces. We strongly encourage the community to still take their own precautions and practice safe hygiene. For further information on the cleaning blitz, visit Citywide's website.

Playground

Allnutt Park is popular for its playground, parts of which are naturally shaded by the beautiful trees, whilst other areas are under shade sails for some protection from the elements. The large playground has a range of activities including:

  • slides
  • ladders
  • climbing nets
  • selection of swings
  • a fire truck
  • large Bertie the Beetle
  • climbing frame
  • Parts of the playground have shade sails for protection from the sun.

Active recreation

Allnutt Park has opportunities for recreation, including:

  • ball court with both basketball and netball rings
  • golf birdie cage.

Dog off-leash information

The northern end of Allnutt Park is off-leash, while the southern end is on-leash (including the playground and barbecue area, as well the entrance from Beech Street).
