Town Hall signage update:

From 13–24 July, we will be installing new external signage around Glen Eira Town Hall. During this time, there may be short periods when some signs are temporarily unavailable. If you require assistance navigating the site, please speak with one of our staff members.

History and heritage

Glen Eira has a rich and diverse history. The Boonerwrung* are the Indigenous Australians of the Kulin Nation and were the first inhabitants of the area, while European settlement dates from the 1840s.

The City of Glen Eira takes its name from two local landmarks — Glen Eira Road and Glen Eira Mansion. It was formed in December 1994 after the amalgamation of the former City of Caulfield and the northern part of the former City of Moorabbin.
