We are upgrading and renewing some of our community buildings to ensure they remain safe, accessible, and welcoming for everyone.
This work is part of our annual Building Renewal Program and reflects what our community has told us matters most: safe, accessible, and well-maintained spaces that support daily life.
By renewing and upgrading existing assets, we’re supporting the health, wellbeing, and connection of our community, now and for future generations.
Read on to learn more about the works taking place in the 2025 and 2026 financial year. We’ll continue to keep this page updated as works progress, so you know what’s happening and how it benefits you.
Works include:
structural and roof renewals
upgrades to flooring
renewing heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and hot water systems
kitchen and bathroom upgrades
upgrades to electricity, fire and security systems

Bentleigh Library and Youth Hub is complete! Bentleigh Library has been transformed into a new community centre that integrates Council’s Library and Youth Services. It was officially opened to the public on Wednesday 26 October.

The Carnegie Memorial Swimming Pool redevelopment provides the Glen Eira community a modern and accessible recreation centre.
