Volunteer Framework

Glen Eira acknowledges the important role volunteers play in our community. We created this volunteer framework to help organisations and volunteers deliver successful programs to the community.

We adopted the Glen Eira Volunteer Framework (PDF) in June 2019. It aims to support community organisations and increase volunteering in Glen Eira.

The framework identifies four priority areas.

  • Lead and manage – Lead a positive culture of volunteering and the development of effective management systems to support volunteers.
  • Promote and recruit Promote volunteering opportunities and recruitment of volunteers.
  • Support and develop – Support and development of volunteers to ensure they receive appropriate orientation, training, development and support.
  • Recognise and celebrate – Recognise and celebrate volunteers to ensure their contribution, value and impact is understood, appreciated and acknowledged.

Our shared commitment to these priorities will ensure our volunteer programs foster a strong, resilient community. We’ll collaborate with community organisations, not-for-profit organisations, clubs and associations to strengthen their volunteer programs and initiatives.

The Volunteer Framework is underpinned by the Framework Action Plan (PDF).
