At a Council Meeting on Tuesday 7 April 2020, Councillors endorsed a $7.3 million Response and Recovery Package to support residents and ratepayers during COVID-19.

This Package provides immediate and ongoing financial support for individuals, local businesses, local community groups and sporting clubs that have been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

Immediate financial relief includes:

• a deferment of rates 
• relaxing enforcement of parking infringements whilst people are required to limit time outdoors, work from home and self-isolate
• ceasing following up unpaid animal registrations.

We are also offering rent relief for Council community and some commercial tenants, including those sporting tenants holding a ground lease with Council. We will also be waiver fees for sporting clubs, associations (eg. netball and SMJFL) for winter season allocation (1 April 2020 to 30 September 2020).
