Town Hall upgrades
Upgrades include new ramps, walkways, steps, handrails, tactile indicators, and wayfinding signage — all designed to meet modern accessibility and safety standards.
We’re staging the works between February and June 2026 to minimise disruptions. Read on to learn more about the works and access changes during construction.
Timing
Works are expected to begin on Monday 16 February and finish by mid-June. Works will take place weekdays, between 8am–5pm.
Accessing the Service Centre
The Service Centre will remain open from 8.30am–5pm weekdays throughout the works, with staff available to assist you. You can also access our Customer Service team online or by phone during this time. For assistance:

Parking and drop-off changes
There will be changes to parking or drop-off zones near the Service Centre entry during construction.
An accessible car spot and some 15-minute drop off spots in the Glen Eira City Council car park will be unavailable during works. Please use alternate spots available nearby, across the zebra crossing. See the diagram below for the temporary accessible car spots in green.
Noise and construction
You may notice some noise and construction activity during your visit to Town Hall. We’ll do our best to keep disruption to a minimum and appreciate your patience while we make these improvements.
Safety
Your safety is our priority. Please take care around work areas and follow all signage and instructions.
Stay updated
We’ll keep you informed about any changes to access or impacts as works progress. Check back here for updates throughout the works.
