Town Hall upgrades

We’re renewing the Service Centre entry at Glen Eira Town Hall to make it safer, more accessible, and welcoming for everyone who visits.

Upgrades include new ramps, walkways, steps, handrails, tactile indicators, and wayfinding signage — all designed to meet modern accessibility and safety standards.

We’re staging the works between February and May 2026 to minimise disruptions. Read on to learn more about the works and access changes during construction.

Timing

Works are expected to begin on Monday 16 February and finish by Friday 20 April 2026. Works will take place weekdays, between 8am–5pm.

Accessing the Service Centre

The Service Centre will remain open from 8.30am–5pm weekdays throughout the works, with staff available to assist you. You can also access our Customer Service team online or by phone during this time. For assistance:

Entry changes

Access to the Service Centre will be temporarily changed while we renew the entry ramps and walkways. Please follow the signs and directions from our team.

The main Service Centre entrance will be closed from Monday 16 February to Friday 20 March. During this time, the Service Centre can be accessed through the:

  • Glen Eira City Council Gallery entrance and Clock Tower entrance off Glen Eira Road, between 8.30am–5pm
  • Caulfield Library off Hawthorn Road, during Library opening hours between 10am–5pm

Both entrances are accessible. See the diagram below for more information. Signage will also be displayed onsite to help you navigate the area and entrances.

If you need assistance, our staff are here to help.

Parking and drop-off changes

There will be changes to parking or drop-off zones near the Service Centre entry during construction.

An accessible car spot and some 15-minute drop off spots in the Glen Eira City Council car park will be unavailable during works. Please use alternate spots available nearby, across the zebra crossing. See the diagram below for the temporary accessible car spots in green.

Noise and construction

You may notice some noise and construction activity during your visit to Town Hall. We’ll do our best to keep disruption to a minimum and appreciate your patience while we make these improvements.

Safety

Your safety is our priority. Please take care around work areas and follow all signage and instructions.

Stay updated

We’ll keep you informed about any changes to access or impacts as works progress. Check back here for updates throughout the works.
