Sewage Spill Alert

South East Water has told us that there was a sewer spill on Glen Huntly Road in Caulfield South. Some of the sewage overflowed into a stormwater drain, which leads to Elster Creek.

The spill happened in the evening on Wednesday 8 October. It was caused by a blockage, but the problem is now under control.

The area where the spill occurred is hard for the public to reach.

South East Water is cleaning up the area and testing the water in Elster Creek and at Elwood Beach to make sure it is safe.

We recommend everyone follows the advice of signs placed by South East water, asking residents (and their animals) not to use or handle the water at Elwood Beach.

For further enquires you can contact South East Water Faults and Emergencies team on 132 812.
