Men’s Health Week 9–15 June 2025

Men’s Health Week is celebrated every year, all around the world, to raise awareness about men’s health. The 2025 theme in Australia is ‘See a GP’.

Men are at higher risk for many physical health conditions and mental health concerns – though seeking support can be challenging due to stigma and societal pressures.

This Men’s Health Week, we are promoting the health and well-being of men and boys in our community by sharing information and resources from the Australian Men’s Health Forum.

To get involved we can:

  • Get Active with daily walks, by joining a sports team, or setting activity goals
  • Schedule a Health Check-up with a doctor for routine screenings and health assessments
  • Talk about Mental Health by having open conversations about stress, anxiety, and emotional well-being
  • Engage in Workplace Wellness Programs that offer health initiatives and mental health resources
  • Support Men’s Health Organisations who provide resources and support networks for men and boys.

Together we can help create a future where men and boys live longer, healthier, and happier lives – one conversation, one step, and one decision at a time.

We’re lucky in Glen Eira to have a range of leisure facilities throughout our city. Our parks and facilities provide spaces to be active, including outdoor fitness training stations, local sports clubs and our aquatic and recreation centres.

Glen Eira Leisure provide accessible opportunities for members to stay active and connected – including free member’s health consultations.

For our young people aged 10-25, our Youth Services provide one-on-one consultation sessions with our youth workers. These free and confidential sessions offer opportunities for discussions about mental health, creating connections and referrals to specialised local services.
