Council Plan 2025–2029 and other plans adopted

We’re proud to share that the Council Plan 2025–2029, Asset Plan, Financial Plan and Climate Emergency Response Strategy were officially adopted by Council at the October Council meeting.

The finalisation of these documents follows extensive engagement with our community over the past twelve months.

  • The Council Plan sets our direction for the next four years, outlining how we’ll deliver services, manage resources and work with the community to build a more inclusive, sustainable and connected Glen Eira.
  • The Financial Plan tracks our financial health and helps us make responsible and smart decisions about money and resources.
  • The Asset Plan is all about the way we manage assets like roads, footpaths and playgrounds on behalf of our community.
  • The Climate Emergency Response Strategy looks at the way we plan to tackle climate change.

We created these plans with our community — for our community.

Thank you to everyone who shared ideas, feedback and experiences over the past twelve months. Your voices have shaped our priorities and will continue to guide our work.

More about the Council Plan

The Council Plan 2025–2029 is our shared roadmap with the community for the next four years. It sets our priorities, shows how we deliver important services, and outlines how we work together to build a stronger, more inclusive and sustainable Glen Eira.

It brings together our major strategic work — how we manage finances, care for community assets like buildings and parks, and respond to the climate emergency — into one clear direction.

It puts community priorities at the centre. We’ve grouped our goals into four key areas:

  • Community safety, cohesion, health and wellbeing: Building a community where everyone feels safe, supported, and connected.
  • Diverse, welcoming and accessible places: Creating neighbourhoods and public spaces that are inclusive and accessible for all.
  • Environmental stewardship: Taking strong action on climate change, reducing waste, and supporting community-led sustainability.
  • Innovation and financial sustainability: Using resources wisely, making open decisions, and focusing on what matters most.

For the first time, health and wellbeing priorities are fully integrated into our Council Plan, ensuring every decision supports a safe, healthy, and inclusive future.
