Want to increase greenery in your backyard and play a part in helping to strengthen biodiversity in your local neighbourhood?
Come and pick up a free native plant, including a Brachyscome multifida — a small shrub with purple flowers, or a Chrysocephalum apiculatum — a small green plan with yellow, button-like flowers that attract native bees, to plant in your own garden. This indigenous plant helps to attract bees and other beneficial insects to your garden and neighbourhood.
This event are part of our annual Community Planting Week. It shows how easy and enjoyable it is to enhance our outdoor spaces by planting indigenous species that support local biodiversity — and have a big effect on environmental health.
Learn more about Council’s commitments and work to grow our urban forest, and ways you can take action.
