COVID-19 update:

On Sunday 6 September 2020, the Premier announced Victoria’s COVID-19 roadmap to reopening. Many of the Stage 4 restrictions remain in place but there have been some slight changes. Find out more here.

Elsternwick Plaza

Elsternwick Plaza is located in the heart of the Elsternwick activity centre, next to Elsternwick train station, local shops and cafes. The modern plaza of today was redeveloped in 2016 to create green space within an urban setting. It is also the start of the historic Rosstown Rail Trail that runs from the plaza and along Riddell Parade.

How is COVID-19 impacting our parks?

Our parks and open space remain open for exercise between the permitted times 5am to 9pm.


Exercise is now limited to two hours per day and no more than five kilometres from your home. Two people or a household can meet outdoors for a maximum of two hours for exercise or recreation outside your home, as long as neither of you travel more than five kilometres from your home. Always remember to wear a face covering and practise social distancing.

Playground

The kids will love the transport-themed playground which includes:

  • a train
  • steam engine
  • bi-plane
  • spiral slide
  • climbing wall
  • stand-on spinner

Please note, there are no public toilets located within Elsternwick Plaza.

Book and reserve a picnic shelter

To apply online you will need to create an account or login. The cost to book a picnic shelter starts at $140.

The full booking fee payment is required within 48 hours of receipt of invoice.

You are required to email us proof of payment if your booking has been approved within 48 hours notice from your booking date.

Equipment such as marquees, jumping castles, petting zoos and BBQs are not permitted.

Please note:  A minimum notice of two business days is required for all bookings (subject to availability).

BBQs are a free communal facility for all users of the park. They are not included as part of a picnic shelter reservation.

Active Recreation

If you're a cyclist, you can follow the bike path (with its historic signage) right through to Boyd Park in the east of Glen Eira.

Dog leash information

Elsternwick Plaza is an on-leash area, which means you must keep your dog on-leash at all times.
