Public transport

Catch a train

The following three train lines service stations in Glen Eira:

  • Frankston line — services Caulfield, Glen Huntly, McKinnon, Ormond, and Bentleigh stations
  • Pakenham line — services includes Caulfield, Carnegie and Murrumbeena stations
  • Sandringham line — includes Elsternwick station

Catch a tram

Five trams operate across Glen Eira:

  • Number 3: East Malvern to Melbourne — via Balaclava Road
  • Number 5: Malvern to Melbourne — via Dandenong Road
  • Number 64: East Brighton to Melbourne via Hawthorn and Dandenong Roads
  • Number 67: Carnegie to Melbourne — via Glen Huntly and St Kilda Roads
  • Number 16: Kew to St Kilda beach — via Glenferrie, Dandenong, Hawthorn and Balaclava Roads

Catch a bus

If you want to catch a bus in Glen Eira, you have a range of options, including:

  • route 220 or 605: Gardenvale to Melbourne — Kooyong Road, Clarence Street and Orrong Road (via Prahran)
  • route 216 Brighton to Melbourne — Hotham St (via Prahran)
  • route 219 Gardenvale to Melbourne — North Rd (via Nepean Hwy)
  • route 605 Gardenvale to Melbourne — Kooyong Road (via Armadale and Toorak)
  • route 623 St Kilda to Glen Waverley — Glen Eira, Booran, Neerim, Koornang and Dandenong Roads (via Chadstone)
  • route 627 Elsternwick to Chadstone — Orrong Road, Clarence Street, Dover Street, and Booran, North, Katandra, Leila, Koornang, Corrigil and Kangaroo Roads
