Election information

The election will be managed by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC). It will be conducted by postal vote and ballot packs with instructions for postal voting which will be distributed via post to every person enrolled to vote in Glen Eira in early October.  Voting closes on Friday 25 October at 6pm.

If you will be away when ballot packs are mailed out (7–10 October 2024), visit the VEC website to request for your ballot to be sent to a different address.

If you haven’t received your ballot papers in the mail by the middle of October, contact the VEC.

New electoral structure for Glen Eira

A new electoral structure and new ward boundaries will take effect from the October 2024 local government election. 

The Victorian Government’s electoral changes moved Glen Eira City Council to nine wards, each represented by a single Councillor. 

The nine new wards are divided along main roads and suburb boundaries. The wards are named Bambra, Booran, Caulfield Park, Jasper, Mallanbool, Moorleigh, Murrumbeena, Orrong and Wattle Grove.

Election period

Throughout the election period, councils across Victoria, including Glen Eira City Council, must comply with special arrangements in the lead up to local government elections, in accordance with the Local Government Act 2020.
