We’ve made some plans — have we got them right?

We’ve used your feedback to develop some of our key plans that will guide our focus over the next four years. Before we move forward, we want to make sure we got them right.

Tell us what you think about our draft:

  • Budget for 2025–26
  • Revenue and Rating Plan
  • first-ever Biodiversity Plan
  • first-ever Strategic Property Plan.

This is the first round of draft plans Council has developed in its new term — there are more to come, including the four-year Council and Community Plan, so keep an eye out for these later this year.

Revenue and Rating Plan

Our draft Revenue and Rating Plan explains how we’ll raise revenue through rates and other sources of income over the next four years.

We’ve heard your feedback when it comes to the long-term sustainability of our finances and how you think we should raise funds to continue to deliver the services you rely on.

You’ve told us we should continue to focus on seeking funding from sponsorships and partnerships with other levels of government and the private sector, where possible.

Budget

Our annual Budget is our 12-month roadmap of how we’ll invest in continuing to make Glen Eira a great place to live, work and visit through continuing to provide highly valued, financially sustainable services.

We’ve heard that you want us to focus on delivering services important to our whole community, and access to open space and nature are priorities for you.

We also know that in a constrained financial environment, your priority is for us to maintain and renew things like road and buildings, rather than investing in new infrastructure.

Biodiversity Plan

Our first-ever Biodiversity Plan is all about protecting and improving Glen Eira’s natural environment over the next four years. It outlines the actions Council will take to protect and enhance local ecosystems, wildlife, and natural habitats.

We’ve heard that looking after our green spaces and local biodiversity is a top priority. So, we’ve used your feedback to create a plan that supports a cleaner, greener and more liveable Glen Eira.

Strategic Property Plan

As our population grows and changes, it’s more important than ever that our community spaces are fit for purpose and ready to support current and future needs. Our first-ever Strategic Property Plan is a long-term framework to guide how we manage and make the most of the $1.1 billion of land and buildings in our care.

We’ve heard your feedback that continuing to invest in community assets in the long-term — for both community and commercial use — is a smart and sensible way we can make our services more financially sustainable.

We’ve listened to your feedback and hope these plans reflect what matters most to you.
