Mackie Road Reserve Pavilion redevelopment

We’re planning to upgrade one of our oldest sports pavilions to better serve the community. It’s part of the Mackie Road Reserve Master Plan, endorsed by Council in June 2022.

The pavilion is one of the oldest sports pavilions in Glen Eira and its home to the Mackie Cricket Club and Glen Eira Junior Football Club.

The current pavilion, while functional, is not able to meet the growing needs of tenant sports clubs including catering for growing female participation, increasing junior participation and club social activities.

A concept plan for the new modern, fit-for-purpose pavilion has been developed and focuses on sustainability and inclusivity, designed to welcome people of all ages, genders and abilities.

It features a new kitchen, change rooms, storerooms and a large social area for gatherings. It would be rebuilt in a similar footprint to the existing facility to protect surrounding trees and greenery.

We’re eager to hear your feedback on the concept plan.

Join the conversation to find out more and have your say. Complete the survey by 31 May 2024.

We acknowledge the Victorian Government’s support through a funding commitment of $3 million.
