Melbourne Airport is expanding and developing a third runway. This addition will change flight operations and the way aircraft noise is experienced across Melbourne. People may notice changes in aircraft activity, including different flight path patterns and changes in aircraft noise compared with today.
A draft Noise Sharing Plan has been developed and aims to share aircraft noise impacts across communities where it is safe and practical, reducing the likelihood of any one community experiencing ongoing aircraft noise.
Melbourne Airport is seeking community feedback on its draft Noise Sharing Plan beginning on Monday 10 August.
While Council is not responsible for developing the Plan or determining flight paths, we encourage you to learn more about the proposal and participate in the consultation.
There is a community drop-in session aimed at residents of Murrumbeena and Carnegie on Monday 17 August from 4pm–7pm at 162 Poath Road, Hughesdale.
