Council honours local volunteers at Community Awards 2019

On Wednesday 22 May and Thursday 23 May, community members were honoured and thanked for their service to the City of Glen Eira.

As part of Council’s Community Awards 2019 event, Council presented its annual Volunteer Recognition Program Certificates of Appreciation.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to 181 volunteers — 55 people for 500 hours of service; 25 people for 1,000 hours of service; 25 people for 2,000 hours of service; 43 people for 10 years of service; 20 people for 20 years of service; nine people for 30 years of service; and four people for 40 years of service.

Glen Eira Mayor Cr Jamie Hyams said Council has been honouring the countless hours of voluntary service provided by members of the local community for 29 years.

“Council was delighted to have the opportunity to recognise the contribution volunteers make,” Cr Hyams said.

“To all our volunteers, thank you for your time and effort. Our community is stronger because of your involvement and Council is delighted to have the opportunity to recognise the contribution you make.”
