Notice of the preparation of Amendment C247glen
The land affected by the amendment is generally around the commercial core of the Bentleigh East Neighbourhood Activity Centre, consisting of commercial, public use and mixed use zoned land. It includes:
- 619–801 Centre Road, Bentleigh East (odd numbers), VIC 3165
- 658–730B Centre Road, Bentleigh East (even numbers), VIC 3165
- 157–177 East Boundary Road, Bentleigh East (odd numbers), VIC 3165
- 150 East Boundary Road, Bentleigh East, VIC 3165
- 10–16 Heather Street, Bentleigh East (even numbers), VIC 3165
- 1A Omeo Court, Bentleigh East, VIC 3165
- 24 Becket Avenue, Bentleigh East, VIC 3165
- 53 Browns Road, Bentleigh East, VIC 3165
The amendment proposes to implement the built form objectives and requirements of the Bentleigh East Neighbourhood Activity Centre Built Form Framework (November 2021). The amendment seeks to provide permanent built form controls for land within the Bentleigh East Neighbourhood Activity Centre.
Specifically, the amendment proposes to make the following changes to the Glen Eira Planning Scheme:
- Introduces a new Schedule 13 to Clause 43.02 (Design and Development Overlay)
- Introduces the Bentleigh East Neighbourhood Activity Centre Built Form Framework (November 2021) as a background document within Clause 72.08 Background Documents

Making a submission
Any person who may be affected by the amendment may make a submission to the planning authority about the amendment. Submissions must be made in writing giving the submitter’s name and contact address, clearly stating the grounds on which the amendment is supported or opposed and indicating what changes (if any) the submitter wishes to make.
Name and contact details of submitters are required for council to consider submissions and to notify such persons of the opportunity to attend council meetings and any public hearing held to consider submissions.
The closing date for submissions is 23 October 2023.

The planning authority must make a copy of every submission available at its office and/or on its website for any person to inspect free of charge for two months after the amendment comes into operation or lapses.
