NAIDOC Week (7 to 14 July) celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
We’re renewing the Service Centre entry at Glen Eira Town Hall. Weekday works from February to May will change how you enter the building. Follow onsite signage or read more here: Town Hall upgrades.

The Annual My Brother Jack Awards are back for 2026 and applications open today.
Glen Eira Libraries is inviting local writers of all ages to take part in the 2026 My Brother Jack Awards, a long‑running community writing competition celebrating short stories and poetry.
Open to people who live, work or study in Glen Eira, the awards recognise original, unpublished writing and encourage creativity at every stage — from first‑time writers to experienced storytellers.
Established in 1996, the My Brother Jack Awards are an annual literary competition run by Glen Eira Libraries. The awards celebrate the stories and voices that reflect our local community, with no set theme or genre — giving writers the freedom to tell the stories that matter most to them.
Entries are open in short story and poetry categories across the following age groups:
Cash prizes are awarded in the Open categories, with gift vouchers for student winners.
