2024 Summer Teen School Holiday Program

Activities are open to young people aged 12 up to 18 years old with a connection to Glen Eira. Bookings open Monday 11 of December at 9am and close Friday 22 of December at 5pm.

The Grilled Thrill

Tuesday 9 January

Attention to local food enthusiasts and junior chefs, come down to our burger making class. How do you like your burgers? Pickles or no pickles? Onion or no onion? Tomatoes? This activity will boost your skills in the kitchen by learning how to create fresh mouth-watering juicy patties with the perfect meat to bun ratio. By the end of the class junior chefs will get to present their burger and brand it with a crazy name.

* Vegetarian options will be available
* Due to the potential risk of cross contamination of wheat we are unable to provide gluten free options
* Please note that we advise participants to bring clothes they aren’t afraid to get food on.

Summer Net2Net – Game On!

Wednesday 10 January

Keen to get your sporting fix but want to avoid the heat? This summer we will be hosting a friendly competition with indoor ball sports. From volleyball to soccer, we have you covered with a round robin of games. Whether you’re a pro, beginner or just love physical activity this one is for all young ball sport fanatics.

Time: 10am to 2pm
What to bring: water bottle, active wear, lunch and snacks.

Zoomanji

Thursday 11 January

This summer we’re going to Melbourne Zoo but with a twist! Competing in teams get ready to embark on a fun filled journey and don’t forget to bring your thinking cap as you tackle riddles and race across the zoo for the next clue. Make the most of the trip as we explore different ecosystems and get up close with various species and wonders of the animal kingdom. Our Zoomanji race will take your Zoo experience to the next level this summer.

Time: 10am to 5pm
What to bring: water bottle, hat, clothes, lunch or money for lunch, and sunscreen.

Glen Eira 2024 Youth Pro Sk8er Tournament

Tuesday 16 January

Attention all amateur skaters of Glen Eira. Youth Services are teaming up with Curbside Coaching to run a skateboarding tournament at our local skate park. There will be three entrant categories, with a winner from each.

  • 10-12 yrs,
  • 13-15 yrs and
  • 16-18 yrs old.

Every registered skater will get an opportunity to show off their skills in front of the judges before selected entrants progress to the finals.

If you love your kick flips and street skating come down, or if you are looking for some summer entertainment, this spectacle is for you!

This event is open to all young skaters in Glen Eira. Registration is mandatory.

Lego Art Masters

Wednesday 17 January

Inspired by the Lego Masters TV show we will be running our own Lego Art Workshop. If you are a Lego fanatic or just enjoy various forms of art this activity is for you. Broken down into themed rounds each participant will have the opportunity to showcase their colourful and innovative creations. Points will be awarded after every round with the overall winner receiving a Lego prize!

Summer Chill Vibes with Games and Movie

Thursday 18 January

Trying to avoid the hot summer weather? Stay cool these holidays with indoor games and a movie. We will be running UNO, Monopoly, and other board games. Love Mario Kart and FIFA? We will have you sorted with Nintendo and PlayStation 5. After games get the popcorn popping as we head down to the cinemas! Put your feet up and finish the day with cinematic entertainment and chill vibes.

Time: 10am to 5pm
