Spring Teen School Holiday Program

Activities are open to young people aged 12 to up to 18 years old. All participants must Live, Work or Study in the City of Glen Eira. Bookings open at 9am Monday 29 August and close 5pm Monday 12 September. 

PRESS START Convention @ Carnegie Library

Tuesday 20 September

Got a passion for gaming? Do you love retro arcade games, console games and board games? Glen Eira Youth Services is hosting the wonderful PRESS START Convention as a part of Victoria’s Youth Fest Celebrations! And we welcome you to join! Dress up as your favourite character from anime, video games, television series or movies for your chance to win a prize. The PRESS START Convention is a safe space where you can be yourself and meet others who share similar passions.

Time: 11am to 3pm
What to bring: Your gaming spirit, water bottle, snacks
Drop off/Pick up: Carnegie Library, foyer and forecourt, 7 Shepparson Avenue, Carnegie

Rock Climbing and Melbourne Gaol @ Melbourne City

Wednesday 21 September

Back by popular demand is our rock-climbing activity these holidays. The HardRock instructors will take you through some safety lessons before having a practice session, then you have free reign of the climbing gym! We will dust off our hands and head to the Melbourne Gaol afterwards for a tour that will be sure to freak us out!

Time: 12pm to 5pm
What to bring: Sneakers, snacks (everyone is hungry after climbing), water bottle, hat, comfortable climbing/walking clothes
Drop off/Pick up: McKinnon Library and Youth Hub, 169a McKinnon Road, McKinnon
Cost: $10 or free for Health Care Cardholders


Eureka Skydeck, ACMI Exhibition, Frisbee and Birrarung Wilam Walk @ Melbourne City

Thursday 22 September

Afraid of heights? We are taking these holidays to the next level. A morning tour of the Eureka Skydeck will surely wake you up while you embrace a full view of our beautiful city. ACMI is opening their doors to us for an art and light experience, before playing frisbee games and BYO lunch in the park. To finish off, Koorie Heritage Trust will take the group for a blissful spring river camp walk down the Birrarung to remember the cultural importance of our wonderful city of Melbourne/Narrm.

Time: 9am to 5pm
What to bring: Myki for the train, lunch or lunch money, snacks, good walking shoes, water bottle, hat, and backpack
Drop off/Pick up: McKinnon Library and Youth Hub, 169a McKinnon Road, McKinnon

Boxing and Basketball @ GESAC

Wednesday 28 September

Jab, cross, hook, roll! Learn the techniques of the fun and popular sport: boxing! These holidays we have our very own boxing instructors at our fabulous GESAC facility. We will back it up with a game of basketball and some hoop games with prizes up for grabs. It’s going to be a whole lot of fun, don’t miss out.

Time: 10.30am to 1.30pm
What to bring: Sneakers, snacks, water bottle, comfortable boxing/basketball clothes
Drop off/Pick up: Glen Eira Sports and Aquatic Centre 200E Boundary Road, Bentleigh East

Melbourne Show @ Melbourne Showgrounds

Thursday 29 September

Ever been to the Melbourne Show? Now is your chance! The Melbourne show returns after 2 years and we couldn’t be more excited. Join our holiday group and spend a whole day exploring the showgrounds with the coolest crew ever. It will be a HUGE day of fun, showbags, rides, food, random stuff and chilling out.​

Time: 9am to 5pm
What to bring: Myki for the train, spending money (showbags, rides etc.) lunch or lunch money, snacks, good walking shoes, water bottle, hat, and backpack​
