Activities are open to young people aged 12 up to 17 years old with a connection to Glen Eira. Bookings open Monday 31 August at 9am and close Friday 11 September at 5pm

Ultimate Frisbee & Soccer Round Robin

Tuesday 22 September

Get active these school holidays with our Ultimate Frisbee and Soccer Round Robin! Participants will take part in a series of fun, fast-paced games where teams rotate through friendly Ultimate Frisbee and soccer matches. Haven’t heard of Ultimate Frisbee? Ultimate Frisbee is a non-contact team sport that combines elements of football, netball, and basketball, encouraging teamwork, communication, and fair play. This exciting activity is a great opportunity to stay active, build confidence, make new friends, and enjoy a fun day of sport.

Time: 10am–12.30pm

What also to bring: Snacks or lunch, water bottle, shoes to be active in, hat

World of Dumplings

Wednesday 23 September

Get ready to discover the wonderful world of dumplings these school holidays!

Dumplings are enjoyed in many cultures around the world and come in all shapes, sizes, and flavours. During this fun, hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to make delicious dumplings from scratch while exploring the flavours that make them so special.

Time: 11am–1pm

What to bring: Water bottle

Drop off/Pick up: Murrumbeena Community Hub, 28 Gerald St, Murrumbeena

Mini improv quilt making workshop with Kaz Argus

Thursday 24 September

In this hands-on workshop, participants create a small improvisational quilt using hand stitching. Choose to appliqué an intuitive fabric design or piece together three fabrics in a simple patchwork, focusing on slow making, experimentation, and material play.

All materials provided, so come along and get creative using reclaimed materials to create your individual work of art.

Who is teaching: Kaz Argus is a visual artist working with textiles, sculpture, and assemblage. Her art explores how materials can hold feelings, drawing on themes of the body, vulnerability and care. She often works with reclaimed clothing and textiles, giving discarded materials new life while considering the stories, memories and histories they carry. Her practice is driven by making, experimentation, and a passion for keeping materials out of landfill.  You can see her work on Instagram - @karrynargus

Hardrock Climbing

Tuesday 29 September

Challenge yourself these school holidays with an exciting indoor rock-climbing experience! Participants will learn the fundamentals of climbing, including techniques, safety skills, and teamwork, while tackling a variety of climbing walls suited to different skill levels. Whether you're a first-time climber or looking to improve your skills, this session offers a fun afternoon.

Time: 1pm–5pm

What to bring: BYO snacks, lunch, water bottle, MYKI card

Drop off/Pick up: Bentleigh Library and Youth Hub, 161 Jasper Road, Bentleigh

Bowling and Laser Tag @ Strike

Wednesday 30 September

Step up to the lanes and show off your bowling skills as you aim for strikes, spares, and plenty of friendly competition. Then, it's time to enter the laser tag arena! Team up with friends, navigate through the exciting maze, and put your strategy and teamwork to the test in an action-packed battle. Dodge, hide, and score points as you compete for laser tag glory.

Time: 10am–1pm

What to bring: Water bottle, lunch, snacks, MYKI card

Moorabbin Archery Club

Thursday 1 October

Take aim and hit the target these school holidays with archery. Learn the basics of archery, including safe shooting techniques, proper form, and target accuracy, while enjoying fun challenges and friendly competition. Get ready to test your aim and discover your inner archer!

Time: 1pm–4.30pm

What to bring: Drink bottle, snacks (if required), enclosed shoes (mandatory), MYKI card

Glen Eira Skate Competition

Sunday 27 September

Glen Eira Youth Services is partnering with YMCA this September to bring the Skate Park Leagues Competition to Bailey Reserve Skate Park. Whether you're a skateboarder, BMX rider, scooter enthusiast, or simply a spectator, this exciting community event promises a day of action, skill, and fun.
