Activities are open to young people aged 12 up to 18 years old with a connection to Glen Eira. Bookings open Monday 16 June at 9am and close Friday 27 June at 5pm.

Moorabbin indoor sports

Tuesday 8 July

Love sport but it’s too wet outside. Join us at Moorabbin Indoor Sports centre where will be playing futsal (smaller version of soccer) and tennis. Whether you are a beginner or star at sports, no matter, this activity is open for everyone.

Please note we require participants to bring their tennis racquets if they own one.

Time: 10.30am to 1pm
What to bring: Water bottle, snacks, shoes to play sport in, activity wear, tennis racquet (if available)
Drop off/Pick up: 2/117 Cochranes Road, Moorabbin
Cost: $11 or Free for Health Care Card holders


Scroll on bakery

Wednesday 9 July

Come join us as we make our favourites from our local bakeries. Ever wanted to know what it’s like creating your own scroll or twisted delights? This activity will teach you a new skill as you go in our kitchen and make them from scratch. Like it sweet or savoury, ice coated or ham and cheese the choice is yours.

*Please note that whilst we will endeavour to cater for intolerances, we cannot guarantee a kosher, coeliac, nut or lactose free environment. Therefore, this activity may not be suitable for sensitive dietary requirements.

Time: 11am to 3pm

Keep cool on the ice

Thursday 10 July

Back by popular demand, embrace the cold winter as we go ice skating at Docklands. Whether you are an expert or beginner come skate with the youth workers. Rug up and relax afterwards as head down to ArtVo an interactive art museum where photos are guaranteed to be taken.

Time: 12pm to 5.30pm
What to bring: Water bottle, lunch, snacks, MYKI card

I came, I saw, I climbed

Tuesday 15 July

Reach new heights this season as we kick off school holidays with indoor rock climbing. Learn from the instructors at Hard Rock as they harness you up and show you the techniques of how to use your arms and legs to lunge from rock to rock. Chalk your hands up as you climb your own way to the top if you’re the ultimate thrill seeker.

Heights not your thing? No worries, each participant will be able to create their own path on the rock trail and learn a new and exciting skill in the process.

Time: 1pm to 5pm
What to bring: Snacks, water bottle, enclosed shoes

African drumming

Wednesday 16 July

Want to learn how to strike up some rhythm with a Djembe? Come join us for an African Drumming session. Hosted by Melbourne Djembe, instructors will teach you an effective way to engage with music and rhythm whilst exploring a different musical tradition and culture.

Time: 10am to 1pm

Ten pin and cinema

Thursday 17 July

Think you can get a turkey in 10 bin bowling? Join us for our last activity for the winter holidays as we head to Strike bowling. Rails or no rails it’s up to you, as we will be keen to see some high scores. Chill out after and rest your feet as we will be watching a movie at HOYTS cinema.

Time: 9am to 4.30pm
What to bring: Lunch, snacks, MYKI card, money to buy food (if required)
