    Fire extinguishers

    Fire extinguishers can be recycled at some waste transfer stations.

    For the disposal of red fire extinguishers, contact Future Recycling's Bayside Waste and Recycling Centre (Cheltenham) or Cleanaway's Clayton Resource Recovery Centre (Clayton).

    For the disposal of yellow fire extinguishers, consult the National Halon Bank. Yellow fire extinguishers contain halon which is an ozone-depleting chemical.
