As Australians, we're the world’s biggest consumers of clothes, shoes and bags per capita. In Glen Eira, we're finding more and more textiles in our landfill bins, and it's even becoming a bigger contaminant in our recycling bins!
Op shops help us reduce waste by giving our belongings new life. Through our local op shops, we can buy and donate quality clothing and household items, helping to reuse instead of buying new. They're a perfect example of our circular economy in action. Plus, because they're mostly run by not-for-profits and community groups, the money you spend at our local op shops goes back into supporting our community.
