    Approved Amendment

    The Minister for Planning has now approved Amendment C182 which applies a Heritage Overlay to 8 Gordon Street, Elsternwick. The heritage protection came into effect on 6 March 2020 when notice of approval was published in the Victoria Government Gazette.

    The approved amendment differs to what Council adopted and lodged with the Minister.

    In approving the Amendment, the Minister for Planning has made the following changes:

    • The Heritage Overlay does not apply to the whole site, only to the buildings and a 5m curtilage;
    • External paint controls and internal alteration controls do not apply; and
    • The Statement of Significance has not been incorporated into the Glen Eira Planning Scheme.
