Protecting the health of our community through safe, effective, and accessible vaccinations.
Our Immunisation Service
About our service
Our Immunisation Service provides a range of vaccines to protect individuals and the wider community from vaccine-preventable diseases. We are committed to delivering high-quality, evidence-based immunisation programs in a supportive and culturally safe environment.
Our experienced immunisation nurses work in accordance with the National Immunisation Program and relevant public health guidelines to ensure the best outcomes for all clients — from newborns to seniors.
Who we vaccinate
We offer vaccinations for:
- Babies and children — routine childhood immunisations as per the National Immunisation Schedule and catch-up vaccinations
- Adolescents — school-based and catch-up vaccines
- Pregnant women — whooping cough and influenza
- Older adults — influenza
We also provide seasonal flu vaccination which is encouraged every year. Higher risk groups such as children between six months and five years, and adults aged 65 and over may be eligible for a free influenza vaccine that is specifically made to boost the immune response for better protection.
Information about vaccination and individual vaccines can be found at Immunisation | Better Health Channel
Information about eligibility criteria for free vaccines can be found at Eligibility for free vaccine
Catch up vaccinations are required when someone has missed one or more recommended vaccines for their age. Our immunisation team can review your records and create an individual catch-up plan to bring you up to date.
Please email our Team on immunisation@gleneira.vic.gov.au to discuss what documentation is needed and the process required.
Glen Eira City Council does not provide travel vaccines. If you are travelling outside of Australia, please visit your GP at least one month prior to travel to get travel vaccination advice.
