Bin Trim

Free, practical support to help local businesses reduce waste, save money and support a more sustainable Glen Eira.

On this page

Local businesses play an important role in Glen Eira’s neighbourhoods and local economy, and we are committed to supporting them to thrive, because strong, sustainable local businesses are essential to a resilient economy and healthy community.

Bin Trim is a free, Council supported program that helps local businesses reduce waste, improve recycling and operate more efficiently.

Designed for businesses of any size or industry, the program provides practical, tailored support to help you understand your waste and identify simple actions that can save time and money.

By taking part, your business can reduce waste to landfill, lower operating costs and support a cleaner, healthier local environment — while contributing to a more circular and sustainable Glen Eira.

Participation is free, but places are limited.

What does the program involve?

Selected businesses will receive support from expert, industry qualified waste assessors, including:

  • An onsite waste assessment

  • A customised action plan tailored to your business

  • Specialist consultant guidance

  • A follow-up waste assessment and final report

All recommendations are practical and designed to fit into your day today operations.

Who can apply?

Any registered business located in the City of Glen Eira area can apply — no matter your size or industry. If your business creates waste, this program is for you.

Places are limited, so we encourage you to register your interest early.

When does the program start?

Bin Trim operates year round. Once you submit your expression of interest, we’ll review your application and contact you to schedule an assessment at a time that works for your business.

Why it matters

Reducing waste is a shared responsibility, and local businesses play a vital role in reducing landfill and supporting a healthier environment. Less waste to landfill means lower emissions, cleaner neighbourhoods and a stronger local economy, with valuable materials kept in use for longer.
