Wildlife after dark: discovering Boyd Park

Explore Boyd Park after dark and uncover the amazing wildlife that emerges at night in our local urban parks and reserves.

When the sun goes down, Boyd Park comes alive with a surprising diversity of wildlife. Join entomologist, Daniel Kurek, and citizen scientist, Robert Schiller, for an evening of nocturnal discovery, documenting moths, insects, bats and other creatures that call our local parks home.

Many species become active after sunset, with some insects and bats appearing later in the evening. Our citizen science experts will stay until after 9pm for those interested in spotting these nocturnal species.

Learn more about Glen Eira's Citizen Science program, how to use iNaturalist and other local projects on our website.
