Candlebark (Eucalyptus rubida), Centenary Park

Given its size, this is a particularly old example of a Candlebark, especially within Glen Eira. It has an impressive domed canopy spread as the tree is as wide as it is tall. It also has an outstanding trunk girth in excess of 4m around.

The tree is prominently located along the street frontage of Centenary Park and makes a major contribution to the local landscape and neighbourhood character, providing amenity to the community and significant shading of the road surface.

As a large, flowering native specimen within the urban environment, this tree is a vital food resource for native wildlife.
