On Thursday 28 April 2022, the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) declared Sue Pennicuik duly elected to represent Rosstown Ward following the resignation of Cr Neil Pilling.
VEC election manager Charmaine Morel declared the result following a countback of 27,616 votes from the general local government election held in October 2020. Ten candidates who were unsuccessful at the general election and who were still eligible to be elected were included in the countback process.
Glen Eira Mayor Cr Jim Magee welcomes Cr Pennicuik and said she is joining Council at an incredibly exciting time.
“My fellow Councillors and I look forward to working with Cr Pennicuik and value her contribution as we continue to deliver the community’s vision for this fantastic City. Cr Pennicuik is a long term local resident and community representative, I’m confident that she will quickly make a tremendous impact at Council and to our work”.
Cr Pennicuick will be formally sworn in on Tuesday 3 May and will officially join the Council from that date.
