Proposed discontinuance and sale of road adjoining 256 Glen Eira Road and 3 Mulgrave Street, Elsternwick

Glen Eira City Council (‘Council’), acting under section 206 and Schedule 10 Clause 3 of the Local Government Act 1989 and section 114 of the Local Government Act 2020 proposes to discontinue the road adjoining 256 Glen Eira Road and 3 Mulgrave Street, Elsternwick, which is shown hatched on the plan below.

If discontinued, Council proposes to sell the land from the road to the adjoining property owners 256 Glen Eira Road and 3 Mulgrave Street, Elsternwick by private treaty.

As part of its Community Engagement process Council is inviting submissions on this proposal.  Any person wishing to make a submission must do so in writing to the undersigned no later than Wednesday 28 August 2024. Submissions should be addressed to:

A person making a submission is entitled to request in the submission that they wish to appear in person, or to be represented by a person specified in the submission, in support of the submission at a meeting of Council or a Committee of Council on a date, time and place to be determined by Council.

Any person making a written submission under section 223 of the Act is advised that all submissions and personal information in the submission will be handled by Council in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.

All submissions will be considered in accordance with section 223 of the Local Government Act 1989.

Following consideration of submissions, if any, Council may resolve to discontinue and sell the road, part of the road, or not to discontinue and sell the road.

Expressions of interest to lease kindergarten space for 5 years at Murrumbeena Family Centre

Glen Eira City Council is seeking expressions of interest from not-for-profit organisations to lease space at Murrumbeena Family Centre, 105 Murrumbeena Road, Murrumbeena VIC 3163. The organisation must be able to demonstrate that it can provide Victorian Government-funded kindergarten programs for three-year-old and four-year-old children which prioritise families who live, work, or study in the Glen Eira community.

Purchase of Land by Glen Eira City Council

Section 112(3) of the Local Government Act 2020 (Vic) provides that any purchase or compulsory acquisition of land by a Council must be undertaken in accordance with the Council’s Community Engagement Policy.
