Council to rollout lifetime animal registration tags

Council has consulted with community members about the use of lifetime registration tags and how they would like to receive their animal registrations renewals. The majority of respondents indicated that they were in favour of a reduction in plastic and agreed that electronic notifications were a great idea.

Council has consulted with community members about the use of lifetime registration tags and how they would like to receive their animal registrations renewals.

The majority of respondents indicated that they were in favour of a reduction in plastic and agreed that electronic notifications were a great idea.

Renewal notices for 2019–20 will be sent out in March to existing registered pet owners. Council will allocate a tag to each animal for the next registration period. This tag and its number will then remain with your pet for its life.

For subsequent years, you will only receive an electronic or paper renewal notification.

Remember: your pet’s registration is its ticket home, so please make sure your pet is wearing the tag at all times.

If you have recently taken ownership of a new dog or cat, register online today at www.gleneira.vic.gov.au

All dogs and cats three months of age and over must be registered.

For further information, contact Council’s Service Centre on 9524 3333.
