Jane Karslake sworn in as Glen Eira’s newest Councillor

Jane Karslake has been duly elected to represent Camden Ward on Glen Eira City Council following the passing of Cr Dr David Zyngier in November.

Cr Karslake was sworn in today at Glen Eira Town Hall, after the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) declared the result on Tuesday following an online countback of 26,239 votes from the general local government election held in October 2020.

Glen Eira City Council Chief Executive Officer Rebecca McKenzie congratulated Cr Karslake.

“We look forward to working with Cr Karslake, who will represent Camden Ward until the next local government election in October 2024,” Ms McKenzie said.

“Our elected Council is continuing to deliver its Council Plan 2021–2025 and work in partnership with our community to safeguard its long-term sustainability.

“Cr Karslake joins at an important time for this Council, and I am sure she will make a valuable contribution on behalf of Camden Ward.”
