Glen Eira Community Hub welcomes your stories

The Glen Eira Community Hub continues to grow with the Your Stories COVID-19 Collecting Project stream recently added to the interactive community forum.

Your Stories collects digital photos and artworks, documents, videos and audio files which document the daily local life of the Glen Eira community during COVID-19.

The submissions and material collected will be preserved as part of Council’s COVID-19 Collecting Project archive. Future historians may look to this material to better understand the lived experience of our local community during this time.

Glen Eira Mayor Cr Margaret Esakoff said the addition of Your Stories means your unique voice can now become part of the local historical record.

“COVID-19 is a generation defining challenge for our community and there will be lots of material collected over the coming months documenting the official response to the crisis,” she said.

“However, what is often missing are glimpses into the lived experience of individuals and families. Have you taken any photos of signs around your local community? What have you done to brighten up your street? Send us a picture or a video.”

Visit www.haveyoursaygleneira.com.au/online-community-hub and click on the Your Stories tab to learn more about the types of things we are looking to collect, to check out the terms and conditions and to upload your submission.
