Council to work with LXRP and community on Shared User Path solution

Glen Eira City Council has welcomed the Level Crossing Removal Project’s support to revisit design options for the LXRP’s proposed Shared User Path on Queens Avenue.

Following advocacy from Council and community, Glen Eira City Council today welcomed the Level Crossing Removal Project’s support to revisit design options for the LXRP’s proposed Shared User Path on Queens Avenue.  

Deputy Mayor Cr Simone Zmood said Council is pleased to have received from the support of the Minister for Transport Infrastructure and the LXRP following its open letter and the community’s advocacy.  

“We are confident that together with the community, we can agree on a feasible option over the coming weeks,” Cr Zmood said. 

“Council is committed and will support he LXRP to lead effective engagement with the community on the options.” 

Council has continued to advocate for the LXRP to continue to work with Council and community to ensure the design achieves the best and safest outcome for the project and retains more established trees.
