Join an Advisory Committee

Are you passionate about your community? Do you want to help us bring our plans to life? Join an Advisory Committee and guide the work that we do over the next four years.

These Committees will help make sure our projects, plans and services and bring us closer to our goals. Committee members will play a part in ensuring that Glen Eira continues to be a safe, inclusive and welcoming place for our community now — and into the future.

We’re looking for expressions of interest for from community members to join our four Committees which are linked to our overarching Council Plan 2025–2029 and focus on:

  • Community safety, cohesion, health and wellbeing
  • Diverse, welcoming and accessible places
  • Environmental stewardship
  • Innovation and financial sustainability

You don’t have to be an expert — your lived experience in Glen Eira will help us understand our community’s priorities.

On each Committee, there will be four Councillors and up to 10 volunteer community members. The Innovation and Financial Sustainability Advisory Committee will also include two members with professional experience.

Committee members will learn about our goals and priorities related to the theme, as well as the challenges and opportunities we face. They will then give well-informed advice on how to achieve these goals and discuss and make recommendations based on their lived experience in Glen Eira.

Just like the Panel, we’ll select Committee members who represent Glen Eira’s rich diversity. Their voices will help us understand the changing needs of our community over time and stay connected to their priorities.

The Committees will run from late 2025 to September 2028. Meetings will be held quarterly in-person at Glen Eira Town Hall. They’ll take place on Monday, Wednesday or Thursday, usually at 6pm, for no more than two hours.

Together, we can make sure that Glen Eira continues to be a safe, inclusive and welcoming place for our community — now and into the future.

If you live or work in Glen Eira and are over the age of 18, express your interest before Wednesday 10 September.
