Green Link (Ripon Grove) in Elsternwick active travel and biodiversity improvements

We’re improving Ripon Grove to make it safer, greener and more pleasant for people walking and riding bikes.

We’re improving Ripon Grove to make it safer, greener and more pleasant for people walking and riding bikes.

Ripon Grove is an important access route to the Elsternwick shopping strip, including the railway station. To support safer and more comfortable travel, we’ve been developing a concept design to improve how people walk and ride through the street, while also enhancing the local environment.

What will change?

Once completed (by the end of June 2026), the improvements will:

  • Make it safer to walk and ride bikes, with a wider ramp, clearer pavement markings and improved signage
  • Add more greenery and biodiversity, with new planting including native flowers and other vegetation to support local wildlife
