Glen Huntly Road, Elsternwick footpath upgrades

We’re upgrading the footpath along Glen Huntly Road in Elsternwick to make it easier and safer for everyone to get around.

This is one of the many improvements we’re making across local shopping strips and activity centres to help create more welcoming, vibrant places for people to enjoy.

Safer, more accessible footpaths are a simple but powerful way to support the wellbeing of our community and protect the character of our neighbourhoods — things we know matter to you.

What is happening?

We are replacing uneven and broken sections of the footpath surface on both sides of Glen Huntly Road, between Orrong Road and Nepean Highway

When is it happening?

Works will begin on Monday 20 October and will be completed by 18 December, weather permitting.

What are the impacts?

  • There will be no impacts to visitors accessing any of the businesses along the street during the works — you just may notice our contractors along the footpath working.
  • The footpath on both sides of Glen Huntly Road will remain open during the works. However, some small sections where works are being undertaken will be closed off while we complete the works. Please follow the onsite signage when travelling through the area.
  • There will be some dust and noise from the site by our contractors will do their best to minimise it.
