Footpath reconstruction — Gordon Street, Elsternwick (completed)
We’ve made Gordon Street in Elsternwick more accessible by upgrading the footpath and adding new street furniture.
From 13–24 July, we will be installing new external signage around Glen Eira Town Hall. During this time, there may be short periods when some signs are temporarily unavailable. If you require assistance navigating the site, please speak with one of our staff members.

We have restored the footpath along Centre Road in Bentleigh to make it easier and safer for everyone to get around.
This is one of the many improvements we’re fast-tracking across local shopping strips and activity centres to help create more welcoming, vibrant places for people to enjoy.
We replaced uneven and broken sections of the footpath surface on both sides of Centre Road, Bentleigh, between Rose Street and Jasper Road.
To support a greener Glen Eira, where possible, we use sustainable and environmentally friendly resources and processes as part of our projects. In these upgrades, we’re using a recycled asphalt for the footpath surface, which incorporates crushed concrete, recycled asphalt and glass.
These works took place over two weeks in July and August 2025. Our contractors mostly worked overnight to minimise the impact on traders and visitors.
