What’s happening?

We’re upgrading the look and feel of the centre, by:

• refreshing garden beds and landscaping to create a greener and more vibrant environment
• upgrading the amenity of the public seating areas and pavements (at street corners)
• replacing some street trees that are in decline.

When works are happening

Council has nominated A&G Concrete to deliver the works which are scheduled to start the week commencing 27 July.

Works will be phased to minimise disruption:

Stage 1a. South side of Centre Rd between Cairnes Grove and Loranne Street. These works are anticipated to take 5-6 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Stage 1b. North side of Centre Rd between Rose St and the crossing point at 329
Centre Rd. These works are anticipated take a further 4-5 weeks to complete, weather permitting

What to expect during construction

During construction, you might notice some noise and dust. Our contractors will do their best to keep this to a minimum. The street will remain accessible for all, though traffic management and reduced parking are expected for some periods while the kerb outstands are transformed. Please follow directions from traffic controllers and traffic management signage to safely travel through the area.

Staying informed

We will continue to provide updates through Council’s website and on-site signage during construction. Interpreter services are available for community members who need them.
