Become a Glen Eira Sustainability Champion
If you live, work or study in Glen Eira, this free 10-week sustainability-focused program offers training and support to help you deliver local climate action and sustainability projects.
During the program, you will:
- Connect with other local people who are passionate about the environment and their community.
- Be part of a growing movement of local people taking climate and sustainability action in Glen Eira.
- Build your capacity to develop project ideas into real world action.
- Gain an understanding of the climate and sustainability challenges in our local environment.
- Develop knowledge and skills around effective behaviour change, leadership and advocacy.
In 2024 and 2025, our champions started up repair cafes, community pantries, gardens for wildlife and even local sustainability networks. Equipped with new skills, support and inspiration, you too can create real change in our community.
The ten-week program will be back in mid-2026 for its fourth-year running. To register your interest before the expression of interest period, please message the Glen Eira Sustainability Team via email at sustainability@gleneira.vic.gov.au

Who is eligible for the program?
Anyone who lives, works or studies in Glen Eira and is passionate about the sustainability can register.
Why does Council run this program?
Responding to climate change is a global challenge that needs everyone to work together. This program aims to educate and empower our community to take local climate action. It helps us deliver on several actions under our Climate Emergency Response Strategy, Circular Economy Plan and Urban Forest Strategy.
