Due to the easing of COVID-19 restrictions,

we are excited to announce the reopening of some of our key services and community facilities. Find out more in our COVID-19 services update.

Property numbering

Clearly displaying the number of your property ensures that everyone, from friends to tradespeople and the postie, can find you.

On This Page

It’s also important to community safety. For example, if a motorist is having trouble identifying a property, they may lose concentration on the road.

How do I know if my property is clearly numbered?

There are several suitable places to display your property number, including:

  • on your fence
  • on the kerb next to your driveway
  • on a street fixture immediately next to your property, such as a power pole.

Penalties for non-compliance

Clause 71(2) of the Community Local Law 2019 requires you to maintain and display your property number so it’s clearly readable from the road.

For further information on property numbering, download our Street numbering information sheet (PDF, 200KB) or call us on 9524 3333.
