Sand and soil should be disposed of at a waste transfer station. Large amounts of soil should not be placed in your green bin. A little bit of soil attached to garden waste is okay in the green bin, however larger quantities are not accepted.

Sand and soil can be disposed of at the Monash Waste Transfer Station and Clayton Transfer Station. Monash charges for the first half a cubic metre, with rates increasing once the volume is over two cubic metres. Clayton only accepts residential quantities (trailer load) and charges by the tonne. Always check with the transfer station what the current rates and guidelines are, as they can change.
