Polystyrene

Polystyrene packaging is not recyclable in your yellow bin.

Foam and polystyrene packaging should be disposed of in your red general waste bin.

Some types of polystyrene can be taken to specialist drop-off facilities for recycling.

Clean, white polystyrene can be recycled for free (limits apply*) through the Monash Waste Transfer Station. It is advised to call ahead and check if they are currently collecting.

No bean bag beans, loose foam packaging, foam wrapping, meat trays or coloured foam (please dispose of these in your household garbage bin).

*Free for amounts under half a cubic meter. There is an extra charge per half a cubic meter over this amount for residential loads.

Polystyrene fruit and vegetable boxes are also a great resource for DIY worm farms.
