Glen Eira is fortunate to have a rich history and retains substantial built form evidence of growth from the 1830s to present day. Council is committed to conserving the best of the past.

Glen Eira currently has over 3,000 properties protected within the Heritage Overlay, which equates to around 5 per cent of the municipality. This includes 20 precincts and many individual properties.
