Town Hall signage update:

From 13–24 July, we will be installing new external signage around Glen Eira Town Hall. During this time, there may be short periods when some signs are temporarily unavailable. If you require assistance navigating the site, please speak with one of our staff members.

How the NDIS works

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government initiative that improves choice and control for people with disabilities, their families and carers.

How will the NDIS help me?

After full roll out, the NDIS will support an estimated 460, 000 eligible people with a disability with funding for support, services and equipment.

If you meet NDIS access requirements, you'll be assessed for individualised funding. This will allow you to choose how, when and where you purchase service and support.

Am I eligible?

To be eligible for the NDIS, you must be under 65 and have a significant and permanent disability which has an impact on your daily life. You must also be an Australian Citizen or meet the specified visa requirements.

NDIS assistance is not means-tested and has no impact on income support such as the Disability Support Pension and Carers Allowance.

Is the NDIS available in Glen Eira?

Yes, the NDIS rolled out in Bayside Peninsula, which includes Glen Eira, on 1 April 2018.

For further information, visit the NDIS website.
