National Carers Week — 12–18 October 2025

National Carers Week is a time to recognise and celebrate the invaluable contribution that unpaid carers make to family members, friends, or neighbours — our local community.

Events and activities

Many carers don’t see themselves as carers — they’re simply children, partners, friends, neighbours or relatives helping someone. But if you provide unpaid care and support to someone with a disability, medical condition, mental illness, or someone who’s getting older and needs assistance, you are a carer.

National Carers Week raises awareness about the diversity of carers and their caring roles, while offering support and community connection. We're hosting a variety of activities and events during and beyond National Carers Week, and we invite carers who live or care in Glen Eira to come along, connect with other carers, and have some fun.
