This committee advises Council on how to support a community that is safe, connected and healthy. Members will help guide work related to:
-
improving community safety
-
fostering social cohesion
-
delivering arts, culture and events that build connection
-
promoting physical and mental health
-
preventing all forms of violence, including family violence
-
supporting healthy lifestyles and reducing harm
-
responding to the impacts of climate change on health
The committee ensures the needs of people at all life stages — including people with disability, those experiencing disadvantage and people from culturally diverse backgrounds — are reflected in Council’s work.
