Guidelines and application process for temporary decorations on Council land and Council assets.
Festival decoration guidelines
Temporary decorations can contribute to vibrant and attractive activity centres, shopping precincts and community places.
The Festival Decoration Guidelines provide a consistent framework for managing temporary decorations installed by businesses, trader associations, community groups, cultural organisations and other non-Council organisations on Council land and Council assets.
Approval is required before any decoration is installed on Council land or Council infrastructure.
Applications are assessed to ensure decorations are safe, accessible, maintain traffic sightlines, protect public assets and comply with applicable legislation, local laws and Council requirements.
The Guidelines do not replace any statutory permit, consent or approval process. Where a permit or external approval is required, it must be obtained separately.
