Community Planting Day

Join us at Packer Park in Carnegie and help plant 2500 local native plants.

Join us at Packer Park in Carnegie and help plant 2500 local native plants. Planting shrubs, groundcovers and grasses help increase habitat and food sources for local fauna and assist with keeping our neighbourhoods cool.

Our Biodiversity and Sustainability teams will be onsite to answer tricky questions and provide information for those who are interested in supporting biodiversity in their own backyard. We will also have some biodiversity-based activities for kids.

We recommend bringing gloves, sturdy closed toe shoes, a sun hat, and water bottle. If you have a hand trowel or small digging tool, please also bring this along with you.

A person wearing black gardening gloves holds a small potted plant with thin stems and yellow flowers over a ground covered in dry leaves and bark.

Plant Giveaway

A group of people gathered outdoors around a table of plants, selecting and handling seedlings and greenery during what appears to be a community plant‑giveaway or gardening event. Tall trees and sunlight filter through the background as participants reach toward trays of plants, assisted by a person in a high‑visibility vest and wide-brimmed hat.
