Statement of significance:

This tree fulfils the criteria of:

  • Outstanding habitat and biodiversity value

Although healthy and well-formed, this otherwise young and relatively small tree would not qualify for the Classified Tree Register except that it is home to a family of native Tawny Frogmouth birds.

Located along the southern side of Centenary Park, amongst a group of larger and more established trees, this tree has been regularly inspected over the last year confirming that the Tawny Frogmouths spend their days roosting only in this tree.
